At Memories in 4D, our goal is to provide a unique bonding experience between mom, dad, baby, and siblings that is missed or overlooked in doctor's offices and hospitals. We love discovering all the fun things that your little peanut is doing while being able to share that with the family.

2D - black and white image, like a profile from the first trimester or anatomy scan

3D - see baby's features in 3 dimensions, typically this is the gray or orangish images

4D - watch baby moving in 3D like a movie, typically these are in gray or orange

Ultra Realistic HD - This is the newest technology available in fetal imaging!! It is the pink, flesh colored images that look almost lifelike. It is a step above usual 4D images and really shows the highlights and shadows on the baby's face giving more dimension to the photos and making them even more realistic. We can produce still images or moving picture videos while using this upgraded feature.

No, all of our packages offer different features and customizable add-ons. We aim to have packages for multiple budgets and family needs while keeping it simple and streamlined. If you would like to change your package or add on custom items let us know before the beginning of the exam and we will do everything we can to accommodate your wishes.

Well, babies look different at all stages of development. If you have specific questions e-mail, call, or text us and we will do our best to guide you in selecting the best time for you to visit. 

The earliest we perform ultrasounds is 8-10 weeks. At this stage, you will see your whole baby on the screen.

To see your little one wiggle, jump, and kick around, 13 or 14 weeks in 4D Live is pretty spectacular, so it all depends on your preference. You will be able to see your whole baby at this gestational age as well.

The best 3D/4D images are seen between 28 and 34 weeks because as babies get bigger, their faces fill out more and we can see those cute chubby cheeks and baby rolls. At this point, we are able to see parts and pieces of your baby as they are bigger than the ultrasound screen now.

Depending on your baby's position, we can still get great images at 35-38 weeks and up although there are some limitations. At this gestational age image, quality is very dependent on the baby's position and amniotic fluid as most times babies 'drop' into the pelvis at this point, beginning to engage into the birth canal and prepare for delivery. Some of the BEST 3D 4D ultrasound images are taken at 36-37 weeks but they are very dependent on baby's position and the amount of fluid in front of the face.

The most important thing to remember at any gestational age is to drink plenty of clear liquids for a few DAYS prior to your ultrasound and bring baby's favorite SNACKS! This will ensure the best possibility of a cooperative baby on picture day!

If you are only having one elective ultrasound with us during your pregnancy we recommend 28-34 weeks to see the most realistic view of your baby. Baby's facial features will be more defined than earlier in pregnancy and your baby will start to gain weight in the 3rd trimester. Remember to drink water consistently for a few DAYS prior to your ultrasound appointment.

Image quality is affected by many things, for instance:

• placental location
• the baby's position
• maternal build
• the amniotic fluid surrounding the baby
• the amount of clear liquids mom drinks the week before the ultrasound.

At Memories in 4D we are highly trained in OBGYN ultrasound and are excellent at getting beautiful 3D 4D images under the most difficult of circumstances. We have lots of tips and tricks up our sleeves to get your baby to cooperate. The most important thing is, don't schedule your appointment when your baby is normally sleeping. Do drink lots of water the week leading up to your ultrasound, bring snacks, and follow the advice below to get better pictures. 

• The most important thing you can do is consistently drink clear liquids for a few DAYS, up to a week before your appointment. This will help ensure the fluid around your baby is clear and that there is a good amount of fluid. (Quickly drinking 2 bottles of water immediately prior to your appointment is not good. It will just make your need to use the restroom. It typically will not help us get clearer images overall.)
• Try not to schedule your ultrasound at a time when you know your baby is typically asleep or doesn't move very much.
• As long as it doesn't make you nauseous, make sure to eat something light about an hour before your visit. This will help make sure your baby is awake and active for picture time.
• Finally, you may bring a small snack, juice, or baby's favorite food/piece of candy to help baby wake up if needed. (Please always follow all your doctor's dietary recommendations.)

• Follow the suggestions listed above and on the email that will be sent before your appointment.
• Decide who to invite to your ultrasound appointment. (We recommend 10 or fewer guests for the mother's comfort. More guests mean more questions and distractions during the ultrasound while you are trying to bond with your baby.)
• Pick a room on the first floor of your home (with a TV if you would like us to hook our machine up to it) where you would like your ultrasound. We bring everything else!
• Please note:  When laying on your couch and the sonographer will sit to your right because we scan right-handed. (The ideal configuration is for you to be laying down facing the TV when you are looking straight ahead. This will allow the best visualization of the TV from where you are laying). 
• No need to organize or spot clean, as a mother myself I understand what a lived-in home looks like and my only goal is to help you and your family bond with your baby. There should not be any added stress of cleaning when getting ready for your appointment. 
• Fill out/ sign all paperwork and consent forms prior to your ultrasound, these are provided by Memories In 4D when we arrive.
• Keep snacks/juice/cold drinks on hand in case your baby is uncooperative on the big day. 
• Enjoy! This is about growing closer as a family through the amazing technology of ultrasound. 

Yes, absolutely, if performed by a registered diagnostic medical sonographer, ultrasound has no known bioeffects (negative effects on pregnancy). Memories in 4D employs only RDMS registered sonographers to ensure quality and safety standards are always observed. Ultrasound utilizes sound waves, not radiation and as such there have been no reports of documented adverse effects on mothers or babies because of ultrasounds. This includes each kind of ultrasound scanning 2D, 3D, 4D, 5D/HD, HD Live/5D technology.

• Our ultrasounds at Memories in 4D are elective/non-diagnostic, meaning that a physician or radiologist is not going to be reviewing the images to interpret them or provide a report.
• Memories in 4D performs elective ultrasounds for bonding purposes only.
• As such, you do not need a doctor's order to have an elective ultrasound and these elective ultrasounds are not covered by insurance carriers. 
• Please know that we ask you to provide your healthcare provider's name and phone number at the time of your ultrasound and attest that you are under their care for this pregnancy.
• We are a self-referral, elective service and do not claim to be diagnostic ultrasound services. 

*An elective ultrasound never replaces routine obstetrical care.

There are only very few times that babies hide what they are completely. A trained sonographer can usually see what you are having. We will make every effort to be able to tell you what you are having the day you come in and we only employ highly trained RDMS Sonographers for this reason.

Fetal sex determinations by ultrasound have a 95% or greater accuracy from 13-15 weeks and 99% accuracy after 16 weeks (*in moms that are size 16 and smaller).

• You will receive free printed B/W pictures during your session
• Some packages have printed color pictures included
• Some packages include digital copies of your ultrasound images that will be emailed to you within 7 days of the session.
• Some packages include digital copies of the videos saved during your ultrasound session that will be emailed to you within 7 days of the session.
• If you would prefer/require your digital images immediately, USB drives of the images (including videos) you may add that onto any package for $15. A USB drive is complimentary with all Baby Shower Parties and Premium Platinum Packages

*For machine data transfer safety reasons only USBs that are provided by Memories in 4D may be used to save images to. Personal USB drives are not acceptable for safety reasons.

Of course! We attempt to keep a moderate stock of heartbeat animals with us when we come for your appointment, anything else just ask us! It is best to ask us about any keepsakes or add-ons prior to our arrival so that we can best accommodate your requests.

• All items and Made-to-Order custom items are listed in the Custom Keepsakes section of the website. 
• Photos, heartbeat animals, and heartbeat frames are available for immediate purchase at your appointment. 
• All made-to-order items will be available for pick up at the Medina Studion location (when prearranged and approved by you and Memories in 4D staff) or mailed (shipping cost extra). Creation time varies based on the product requested.
• Emailed digital copies of images and/or videos are available 24-48 hours after the conclusion of the appointment.
• If you would like your whole session complied and set to music and sent to you, that creation process varies but will be communicated to you upon purchase.

Despite the best intentions, we understand that unforeseen events can arise, so please let us know 24 hours or more in advance if you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment so that the appointment time may be opened back up for another expectant mom. 

After this grace period, a $35 Reschedule Fee will be accessed. Customers who have booked a studio session and fail to make their appointment without any notification will be charged the full package price.
 

In the event of needing to reschedule a Baby Shower or Gender Reveal Party a minimum of 72 hours is necessary unless there are documented extenuating circumstances. 

Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.  In the case of an emergency please contact our office and the fee will be waived for qualifying documented extenuating circumstances after verification by staff.

Due to the unique nature of our services, most sales are final. This includes in-home and in-studio ultrasound services, baby shower and gender reveal parties, thermal B/W printed pictures, printed color pictures, and all custom or made-to-order items. Exceptions are made for merchandise that is found to have a major defect and returned with a receipt within 2 weeks of purchase abiding by the full refund guidelines found on our Terms and Conditions page.

Gift Cards: Gift cards are non-refundable, are applicable to any ultrasound session or party, and expire within one year of purchase.
